Marta Syrko uses her work to reveal the deep impacts of war. Through her latest series, Sculpture Soldiers, Marta sheds light on the profound toll of conflict on both personal and societal levels. Inspired by the intergenerational traumas of her country and the devastation brought by Russia’s full-scale invasion, she captures the resilience and vulnerability of Ukrainian veterans. Living in Lviv, often under attack, Marta’s own experiences of war are woven into her work, creating intimate portraits that honor her heroes and reflect on healing amid unimaginable challenges.
